The London-born singer and songwriter first came to the public eye competing in the X Factor in 2009. Olly won the hearts of the public and the judges when he reached the final of the series. He was beaten at the last hurdle by Joe McElderry but his popularity and skill saw him establish a loyal fan base and garner success from his exposure. Signing to RCA Records, Sony Music UK and Columbia Records Olly was sighted as a talent like no other. His amazing singing voice allowed Olly to master the genres of pop, R&B, rock, and electronic music; creating a truly mercurial sound.
His debut single entitled ’Please Don’t Let Me Go’ was released in 2010, reaching number one on the UK Singles Charts and received a Gold certification from the British Phonographic Industry. His second single was also successful reaching number four on the charts. Following these releases, Olly released his much-anticipated debut album, Olly Murs in November of 2010 entering the UK Album Chart at number two.
